Deadline to register to be on the planning team is May 1st. Final deadline to register is June 1st. The earlier you register, the better as it gives us a sense of the size of the team for planning purposes.
We are excited to announce our Summer 2024 Trip (June 30-July 5). We will be serving at Big Heart Orphanage Matamoros (but the location is not in Matamoros, but rather a rural location 20-30 minutes outside of Matamoros).
The plan is to drive down Sunday, June 30th, and begin serving Monday, July 1st. We will serve Monday-Thursday and return early Friday morning.
Our primary trip activity is running a Bible based Summer camp for the 35-40 children of the orphanage (which range in age from 5-17). If we have enough participants, there are also numerous maintenance projects we can assist with.

About the location & facility
Big Heart Orphanage, Matamoros is located in a rural area in between Reynosa & Matamoros, Mexico. The Los Indios International Bridge is 14 kilometers (15 minutes) from the facility, which you can see on the map. The facility sits on 44 acres in a rural farming area. The only travel in Mexico planned on the trip is to and from the orphanage from the border crossing at Los Indios. Ensuring the security of all trip participants is our highest priority and we are happy to discuss in more detail our plans surrounding safety.
The facility has climate controled dormitories (male & female), many recreational areas (including a pool), and wifi internet. A video of the facility is included below.
